Brief Overview of the Position

A crucial role within the business to help coach each Travel Counsellor to create a successful business. Through guidance, support and encouragement, you will help each Travel Counsellor to set goals, increase sales & margin & improve marketing and prospecting skills. You will ensure that your coaching is tailored to the individual Travel Counsellor’s real life business challenges and customised to their individual learning and development requirements. Most importantly, encourage accountability in each Travel Counsellor for their business whilst ensuring focus remains on their long-term and short term goals and business strategies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support and empower individual Travel Counsellors to increase their sales and income by assisting them to identify potential new clients
  • Identifying different ways of building on existing relationships to encourage repeat business
  • Encourage and show Travel Counsellors how to build business through referrals
  • Highlight the need for additional training and coach the Travel Counsellor to complete the required development
  • Assist Travel Counsellors in building a business plan and setting attainable goals and objectives
  • Encourage and promote the increased use of the benefit offerings of the Company – this includes the Company’s in-house travel booking platform, Phenix
  • Responsible for planning and managing your time to ensure a consistent business pipeline to achieve sales targets

Accountable for

Ensuring Travel Counsellors create and sustain a successful business. Understand individual learning and development requirements whilst helping to develop short-long term goals and strategies. Promoting the use of in-house systems and benefits to encourage improved supplier relationships and customer choice. You must understand and be sales driven in order to help others. You are not only empowering the TC to improve sales and create a sustainable and successful business, but you are also key to ensuring that the TC company performance as a whole meets its targets. You will be expected to know and understand your sales figures and monitor trends using specially developed BD statistic reports, remembering the more successful you are in developing each TC the more successful the wider business will be. This will result in:

Summary of Essential Attributes and Qualifications

  • Proven experience of Coaching SME’s and/or small business owners for the purpose of business improvement e.g. finding, winning & retaining customers
  • Proven experience of using data to analyse business performance and providing insight & recommendations
  • Proven experience of using Digital to scale new/small business (from own personal experience and/or in an advisory capacity) e.g. all Social channels
  • Excellent communication skills and have the ability to adapt style of communication to suit the audience or individual
  • Proven experience of building relationships
  • Ability to motivate others and build trust through effective listening and collaboration skills
  • Coaching and Mentoring Experience
  • Excellent People Skills – you will need to be empathetic, encouraging and motivational
  • Be commercially astute
  • Confidence in your ability to present to audiences at all levels – ability to deliver training to small groups and individuals

Summary of Desirable Attributes and Qualifications

  • Travel Industry experience
  • A professional coaching or mentoring qualification
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Suite of products
  • Advanced skill in MI analysis in a Sales/Advanced role
  • Experience in a marketing/prospecting environment
  • Experience in managing a business or team
