Anu has a wealth of travel experience. Covid-19 has disrupted her career but Anu was not about to sit around and wait. Knowing that travel was her passion she pursued her dream to become a Travel Counsellor franchise. She signed up to be part of the October Induction. The induction takes place over a 2-week period from the comport of her own home.
We caught up with Anu to fight out a little bit more about herself and her journey to becoming a Travel Counsellor. Look at what she had to say…
What is your background and where did you work before becoming a Travel Counsellor? My name is Anuradha Chetty and I came to South Africa in 1988, from India. I had a love for travel and my dream was to become an air hostess, but due to other difficulties this was not possible. This was not the end for my dream to work in the travel industry. Shortly after coming to South Africa I joined a small travel company where I worked there for 4 1/2years. I later worked for a few other small travel companies. In 1997 I joined a large corporate agency where I worked for 23 years. In that time, I performed all aspects of corporate travel whilst working as a senior travel consultant. Due to the unforeseen Covid-19 pandemic I lost my job. This did not deter me from pursuing my dream of working in travel and have now started my own travel franchise.
Tell us a little bit about yourself I am married and have two kids. I love trying out YouTube cooking recipes and I love fitness walking. My interests lean towards travel, food and I have a love for our local wildlife. I have visited over 20 countries around the world from New York, Paris, Switzerland, Germany and Qatar...
Becoming a Travel Counsellors will enable me to:
- Have more time for my family
- The comfort of working from home
- The support structure will give me more time to focus on my clients.
- Start building and growing my very own business
What do you love most about working in the travel industry? The travel industry is made up of many interesting people and this brings interesting stories. Nothing compares to the thrill of travelling to new destinations. Being part of this experience and ensuring that their trip is seamless excites me. I love that I can live my passion
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? I would love to visit the Amazon rainforest, to see its sheer beauty with my own eyes would be a once in a lifetime experience.
