Role Description

The Junior Commercial Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting Head of Commercial Analytics & Insight by providing comprehensive analysis and insights into company performance, market trends and opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. This role involves closely monitoring and managing key performance indicators (KPIs) that significantly impact business performance. The Commercial Analyst is responsible for producing and analysing data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that inform strategic decision-making.

Principle Accountabilities

Market Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activity to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats to the business.

Strategic Alignment: Ensure that all analysis and insights are aligned with the company's overall strategic objectives, providing valuable input to company’s planning process

KPI Management: Control and monitor the main commercial KPIs, such as sales performance, customer acquisition costs, and profit margins, identifying areas for improvement and provide recommendations to enhance performance.

Reporting: Produce and present regular trading reports, summarising key findings and insights to relevant stakeholders, including senior management, to facilitate informed decision-making.

Risk Assessment: Proactively identify and assess potential risks to business performance, developing mitigation recommendations to minimize their impact.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations, to gather data and insights, ensuring a holistic understanding of business performance drivers.

Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in commercial analytics, recommending and implementing improvements to existing processes and methodologies.

Educational/Professional Standards

Degree level in Business, Economics or statistics related discipline preferable
