Cathy Burke introduces the TC Ireland Head Office Team

International Women's Day

International Women’s Day is a time to recognise the achievements of women. I’m incredibly lucky to work with six incredible women in the Travel Counsellors office here in Ireland — all passionate, dedicated and committed. Today I’d like to celebrate each of them — Bernie, Catriona, Ciara, Nessa, Stacy, and Patrice — and thank them for everything they have done to ensure the success, and continued growth of Travel Counsellors in Ireland.

While I’m shining a spotlight on the team, I also asked them what they love about their work with Travel Counsellors! Here are their answers.

Bernie Whelan – Business Development Coach & Office Manager

“My main role is to give support as a business coach, where I collaborate with our TCs to solve any issues they may have. My colleagues in head office do the very same for me. I love the way we approach issues that arise with such positivity and how we navigate obstacles to get the job done. My colleagues are immensely supportive — both on a personal level as well as in my day-to-day job. I wouldn’t change it for the world.”

Catriona Kelleher – Sales Support & Business Coach

“I consider myself very lucky to able to work every day with an incredible bunch of ladies. Since joining Travel Counsellors my confidence has grown so much and this has been mainly due to the support and encouragement I receive from these wonderful women. It is also great to work for a company that value a great work/life balance. I’m lucky to have the ability to work from home when I need to and it is really special to be there for my daughter Ava when she comes home from school, have a bit of lunch and catch up on her day.”

Ciara Macconnell – Business Coach

“Confidence, pride and belief — three feelings I get when I think about Travel Counsellors and the role I have within the head office team, both from a personal and career point of view. I’m so proud to work alongside women who are an inspiration to me. Their drive, determination and willingness to always improve and move the company forward is incredible.”

Nessa Hurley – Careers & Marketing Executive

“Working for Travel Counsellors offers me incredible flexibility. I’m lucky that I’m able to work remotely from Dublin and do part-time hours which works for me and my family. My colleagues in Cork are always there for me when I need their help. My opinions are valued, my personal life outside of work is valued and we all care for each other and want to help each other in any way that we can… which, as far as I can see, is unique to the TC community.”

Stacy Ryall – Marketing & Digital Executive

“Even though I’ve only been with Travel Counsellors since January 2018, I have grown so much in my role. This is thanks to the amazing support I receive from my team. I think of my work colleagues as friends and they constantly encourage me to be the best I can be in my role. I feel valued in this company, as my ideas and opinions are always heard — the part I love the most.”

Patrice Brady – Marketing Executive

“I joined the Travel Counsellors Ireland’s head office team last month and, as cheesy as it sounds, it instantly felt like a great fit. I love being part of a dynamic working environment that encourages personal and professional growth. Coming together to bounce ideas off one another allows us to develop as a team and creates a solid support network in the office. There is always something new to learn and the opportunities to upskill and progress are endless.”
