Meet our People: Patrice Brady, Marketing Executive:

"I’m currently the newest member of the Travel Counsellors’ Head Office team. I joined the company in February and it instantly felt like a great fit. I love being part of a dynamic working environment that encourages personal and professional growth. Although I’m new to the Travel Trade, I’ve been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to travel a lot over the last few years... 30 countries and counting! As travel is such a passion of mine, joining the Travel Counsellors’ team felt like the perfect opportunity for me."

After completing her undergraduate degree in Journalism, Patrice, who is originally from Cavan, spent two years working as a Communications and Marketing Manager for a residential company in New York. Before returning to Ireland in 2018, she travelled throughout Asia for 6 months. She moved to Cork and joined the Head Office marketing team this year whilst completing her Master's Degree in marketing at Cork Institute of Technology.

Tell us about your role at Travel Counsellors?

My role in Travel Counsellors is Marketing Executive which means I’m involved in business to business and business to consumer marketing. I look after our brand awareness through our consumer website and social media accounts as well as working closely with our Travel Counsellors to help them grow their business through digital and traditional marketing. Travel Counsellors is always investing and developing in new marketing tools to help our Travel Counsellors, which means there is always an opportunity for them to upskill and expand their business. I also work with our suppliers on different collaborations such as our Be Inspired email activity, social media strategies and digital brochures as well as other partnership opportunities.

What do you love most about your job?

The endless possibilities! There really is no limit to what you can do in Travel Counsellors and I think that’s what makes the company so unique. I love the different opportunities that are presented to me every day and I’m always learning something new. Collaborating with people is a big part of my role at Travel Counsellors and it’s also my favourite part of the job. Coming together with everyone to bounce ideas of one another allows us to develop as a team and creates a solid support network in the business, which is visible to everyone externally.

You work very closely with Travel Counsellors daily – what do you think is the best thing about being a Travel Counsellor?

The flexibility and freedom. Our Travel Counsellors can take their business as far as they wish, and they always have the support from Head Office. There is always something new to learn and the opportunities to upskill and progress are endless.

What does Travel Counsellors mean to you?

I feel that I have grown on a personal level as well since joining the Travel Counsellors’ team. Despite being a new member of the team, my ideas and opinions are always listened too and adapted where possible. This encouragement and support drives me to think creatively and approach each day with a positive attitude, an attitude in which we all share.

Where would you recommend travelling to yourself?

It would have to be Cambodia. I was lucky even to spend six month travelling Asia last year and I fell in love with Cambodia. My favourite part of the trip was watching the sunrise over Angor Wat, and having an experience like that myself only drives my passion for travel further. If you do visit make sure to try the Fish Amok, that was another highlight of my trip!
