About the Role
The purpose of the Business Development Manager is to ensure continued, profitable growth and increased market share within the SME business travel sector.The Business Development Manager will manage the acquisition of profitable new clients and help support the Travel Counsellor community to grow and develop their businesses, supporting Travel Counsellors ambitious growth plans.
New client acquisition will:
a) Build the portfolios of our new and existing Corporate TC’s
b) Continue to build on our YoY growth rate
c) Enhance and develop our brand into the wider SME sector
d) Continue to evolve our TC Teams offering allowing TC’s to ‘grow and scale’
Travel Counsellors for Business offers a truly unique travel management proposition for the SME market providing highly personalised, concierge style travel management, supported by best-in-class technology.Travel Counsellors for Business is currently ranked as a top 15 TMC in the UK and growing at a rate of 20%+ YoY.
Principal Accountabilities
- Build the portfolios of ambitious entrepreneurs, by delivering new accounts to truly change their lives and scale their businesses
- Currently working for a Travel Management Company (or in a similar role) with significant experience in a sales driven environment
- Be comfortable managing the entire end to end sales process from lead generation through to implementation
- Generate new leads by sourcing prospects from our target industry sectors and cold calling key decision makers
- Determining key stakeholders and proactively building relationships
- Development of client solution proposal in conjunction with internal support teams
- Building and leveraging internal relationships to achieve outcomes
- Confident with technology and comfortable delivering technology presentation
- Management of sales proposals and RFP documentation
- Comfortable capturing and presenting value
- Plans and manages their time to ensure a consistent business pipeline to achieve sales targets
- Understands the sales activities levels required to meet sales objectives and growth targets
- Management of prospect relationship data into CRM system
Key Experience Required
- Prior experience working in a sales/business development capacity within the Corporate Travel industry.
- Self-starter with strong experience in lead generation
- Ability to blend technology and human touch in pitching to clients
- Effective team working skills – a passion to deliver and build relationships at all levels – both internally and externally
