Interview

Gold TC, Kirsty Fourie, celebrates 10 years and says there's no other ITC model she would consider.

In a nutshell, how would you describe the last 10 years? How has it been 10 years already? It’s been a decade of learning, growing, adapting, keeping up with the times and surviving pandemics!

Why did you join Travel Counsellors? There is no other ITC model I would even have considered! Travel Counsellors are a part of my family.

How has your life changed since becoming a Travel Counsellor? I would not be able to be where I am now and do what I do for my children without taking the chance, and without the motivation from my Travel Counsellors team, incredible colleagues, and support at head office.

What are your goals for the next 10 years? Keep doing what I love! Maybe at a slower pace, but to find the balance that fits where I am in my life now 😊

How have you built and grown your business since joining us? My mom is always amazed at how busy my business is, without doing any advertising! I have amazing clients, and I work very hard! The care you put in is what you get out.

You’ve maintained Gold for the past year. What has it meant to you, and how do you manage to maintain the momentum? I am very incentive-driven, and Gold is always something I aspire to! It is also just as important to me to be there for my kids when they need me, so taking a step back now and again is a must.

Describe your work environment (where do you spend most of your time working) My car!! I don’t get much time at my desk, so planning my day and being part of a team is vital.

In your opinion, what’s the best thing about being a Travel Counsellor? It's family. It’s peace of mind that my clients are in good hands beyond what we do for them.

What advice would you give to someone who is considering joining the Travel Counsellors community? You must be ready, but I promise you will not look back.
