As part of our ongoing commitment to responsible tourism, we've partnered with The Travel Foundation, a sustainable tourism NGO, to develop a selection of itineraries that help TCs offer premium, more eco-conscious holidays.

Who is The Travel Foundation?

The Travel Foundation is a global NGO focused on sustainable tourism, committed to ensuring that tourism benefits the destinations it touches. They collaborate with tourism organizations worldwide to promote a shift towards a sustainable tourism model that prioritizes the needs of local communities. For several years, Travel Counsellors has proudly supported the Travel Foundation and collaborated on various initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable travel.

Enriching Escapes

These itineraries, known as ENRICHING ESCAPES, are designed to minimize the environmental impact of travel, support local economies, and preserve cultural heritage. What sets these journeys apart is that they are based on itineraries from our trusted Destination Management Companies (DMCs) but have been reimagined to be more eco-conscious. From planting a tree as part of a reforestation project, and dining at social enterprise restaurants, to learning traditional crafts from indigenous communities, and exploring a country by rail instead of relying on cars or flights, these itineraries help customers travel more responsibly.
