I am living my best life now - I have never felt so free!

Whilst working for a large retail agency I became frustrated by the 12-14-hour days. I was frustrated by the high demands on me as a manager along with the admin that was stealing my time away from my clients.

I'm appreciative of the experience that I have learnt by working in retail. One thing that I don't miss is that I was only a number in a big machine. I didn't feel cared for. I did not feel appreciated nor valued unless I was a highflyer. But if I had a tough month or needed time off for personal reasons, my old company would take kindly to this. It felt to me that clients were only seen as money. I struggled with this because I love my clients, it is the very reason why I do what I do. I want to feel appreciated, and I want to appreciate others & their dreams.

It has always been a dream of mine to run my own business. When I heard about Travel Counsellors I jumped at the opportunity. I joined Travel Counsellors 10 years ago in April 2019 and it has been a total game changer for me. I love my career. Travel is my passion.

As a Travel Counsellor I have access to a wider range of travel products that I can offer my customers. In my old job we had directional selling and I had to sell what would benefit the company. Now as a Travel Counsellor I sell the product that best suits my customer. What I love most is that the company places me and my customers at the heart of everything that they do. Their values and integrity mirror my own and 100% of their efforts ensure that my business succeeds.

My business is growing, and I am earning more now than ever before. I have also achieved Gold Status. Apart from the financial freedom I now enjoy I have the time to go to the gym and to do the things that I enjoy most. Since joining Travel Counsellors, I have lost over 30 kg's. I love that running my own business as a Travel Counsellor brings me an amazing work-life balance. It is priceless. I also now have a very young family and I love that I have more time to spend with them and that I never miss out on their important moments.

If I was to sum up my life in my old job, I would say I felt 'limited' but now as a Travel Counsellor I've never felt so free! My journey is an exhilarating one.
