Meet Fleur - a new business owner with more than 22 years of experience

Fleur joined Travel Counsellors in May 2022. She has more than 22 years of working experience in travel and spent the last 20 years working for her last agency.

Covid has taught me many lessons

• Family matters most, especially being able to spend quality time together.

• After working from home for nearly two years, and only working at the office 1 day a week, I could not see myself doing an office job from 8 to 5 each day.

• My husband pointed out to me that I was in a comfort zone. I knew that I needed to make a change for my family and my future and that was part of my reason for starting my own travel business with Travel Counsellors.

• I decided to believe in myself. I know that I can run a successful business. It might not be easy, by anything is possible. Long term my decision to start my own business, will be best for my family's future.

After joining Travel Counsellors, I realised just how personal everything is as well as how important this is for my customers.

Tell us a little bit about yourself

I am married and have 2 kids. My daughter is 15 and my son is nearly 13 years old. We enjoy the outdoors, especially in the summer. We enjoy spending time together and try to do the summer Park runs on Saturdays. We have 2 dogs, Camo and Yoda, soon it will be three when HUNTER arrives. We have 1 rabbit Olof, and 1 Indian Mina Lucky. Well before we had kids my husband and I visited London, Paris, Amsterdam, Dublin, Dusseldorf, and went skiing in Andora. Our next trip that we would like to do together as a family is to visit Mozambique and Thailand.

What are you looking forward to most about being a Travel Counsellor?

Being there for my clients, and providing and giving them the service and support, and best prices in the market.

Have you set yourself any goals or milestones for what you want to achieve in your first year?

I would like to achieve the same earning capability before COVID. I also want to achieve financial freedom in the future.

Have you started planning how you will grow your business/find new customers, and if so how?

Yes, I have. My husband is in sales, and I must say his knowledge has helped me a lot. It has changed my mindset, and I am now thinking differently about how to win new business. Whilst completing my induction, we would cover topics and I would hear my husband's voice in the background. My pillar in life!

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

We would like to visit Thailand as a family. Australia and America would definitely also be great.
