Understanding Gold – our prestigious status explained
If you follow us on social media, or are a regular reader of our blogs, there’s a good chance you’ll have seen the word ‘Gold’ pop up. In this blog, we take a deep dive into what it means to achieve the biggest accolade in our community.
What is Gold?
Simply put, Gold is the status given to our best-performing Travel Counsellors who hit a specific earning threshold over a rolling 12-month period. Far from being an elitist club, Gold is something that’s open to all our community. We’ve been awarding our businesses owners with Gold status for 20 years – and we’ve even got some business owners in our community who have retained Gold for the full two decades!
It’s something to aspire to and something to be proud of – think of it as a badge of honour that showcases what a great business you have, and a fantastic way to give yourself a pay rise.
Gold Travel Counsellors currently account for the top 12% of our business owners globally. If a Travel Counsellor has the drive and desire to become Gold, we will offer all the support they need to achieve it.
How does it work?
Gold is calculated on a rolling 12-month basis, with two entry points each year (April and October). There will be a ‘Gold goal’ that you’ll have to hit, which will be an earnings-based threshold based on the previous 12 months’ results.
When you achieve Gold for the first time, you’ll retain the award for 12 months. After that, you’ll need to requalify every six months.

In addition to the status and stamp of approval which shows the credibility of your business, there are numerous other benefits to being a Gold Travel Counsellor.
An invite to our annual Gold Dinner
Usually held at the end of February, our annual Gold Dinner is a black tie affair and includes an overnight stay. Previous venues have included Gleneagles, the Fairmont Windsor Park, the British Pullman, and Harry Potter World.
The opportunity to attend a luxury Gold Weekend
As a Gold Travel Counsellor, you’ll have the opportunity to attend one of our all-expenses-paid Gold Weekends which are held throughout the year. In 2024, we took our best-performing business owners on luxury trips to Portugal, Sri Lanka, Crete, South Africa, and Qatar. Accommodation for our Gold Weekends is usually five-star.
You’ll be wined and dined, and treated to excursions within the local area, while having the opportunity to mingle with fellow Gold business owners, suppliers, and Support Hub colleagues. You’re also welcome to bring your partner along to join in the celebrations.
Gold stationery
In our Brand Centre, we have a range of Gold stationery available for you to order – including business cards. When you hit Gold, you’ll also receive £75 worth of credit on your Brand Centre account, so you can order your first batch of Gold items on us.
A special TCTV broadcast
We host monthly TCTV shows live from our Support Hub TV studio on the first Tuesday of each month to give you all the latest Gold news and inspiration from Gold Travel Counsellors.
Dedicated support for your business
Not only is our Relationship Management team on hand to provide ongoing business coaching and holistic support, we also help Gold Travel Counsellors with their admin – freeing up your time to focus on crafting unforgettable trips for your customers, so you can keep those all-important sales coming in.
