Why you should come to a Discovery Day - from Travel Counsellors who did

The best way to get a feel for the Travel Counsellors community is to come and meet us; that’s why we run regular Discovery Days at our Travel Counsellors Support Centre in Manchester.

Discovery Days are a great way to get a glimpse into life as a Travel Counsellor. You’ll have the opportunity to meet our travel experts, learn about our award-winning induction and training programme, and have a Q&A session with a Travel Counsellor. There’s also a chance to join the community for a broadcast of our weekly TCTV show as an audience member, live from our studio.

We spoke to some of our Travel Counsellors who joined after attending Discovery Days and are now running thriving travel businesses.

Matt Clarke joined us in January 2023. "For anybody within the travel industry thinking of starting up on their own, or, if like me, are changing their vocation, I cannot recommend Travel Counsellors highly enough. I was on a Discovery Day at the very impressive TC Support Centre in Manchester, and the information provided by the team, alongside the professionalism demonstrated by the entire company, helped me make my decision. With no hesitation, I joined the Academy," he said.

“The training has been exceptional, and the support from the coaches and the rest of the TC community has been phenomenal. Enquiries are flying in and my fledgling business is already starting to bloom. I could not be happier with the decision I made, which was facilitated by attending a Discovery Day," he explained.

Ian Gifford, who joined us back in 2016, remembers his Discovery Day clearly. “Monday 11th January 2016 was the day that changed my life. Hearing from Steve Byrne was so inspirational, and it cemented my view that I was making the right decision. If I could have started there and then, I would have done!” he says.
