Gold Travel Counsellors treated to a luxury Thai adventure
Earlier this month we took 32 of our ‘Gold’ Travel Counsellors on a luxury five-day adventure in Thailand. This is one of two Gold trips that Travel Counsellors has organised this month to recognise the hard work of our highest sellers, with the second trip planned for Mexico at the end of September. Our Gold trips are a chance to celebrate another year of creating everlasting memories for our customers, while forging closer friendships between Travel Counsellors and immersing them in destinations that they can offer to their customers.
The trip combined relaxation and nature, with those attending able to unwind at the popular coastal province of Phuket as well as spot wildlife and explore the lush rainforest of Khao Sok National Park, a must-visit destination for nature lovers. The itinerary also included visits to Phuket Old Town, a canoe safari down the Sok River, forest bathing and a tasty Thai cooking class, amongst other activities.
It was the perfect chance for the Gold Travel Counsellors to let their hair down and relax; with our buddy system and team-working technology, they knew that their customers were in the safe hands of our community while they were away exploring.
The group stayed at three luxurious properties, starting at Melia Phuket Mai Khao, on the unspoilt 11km-long Mai Khao Beach. This is one of over 20,000 properties certified as part of our Green Leaf programme, which helps Travel Counsellors and their customers identify sustainable properties so that they can make more responsible travel choices.
This was followed by Elephant Hills, Thailand’s first luxury tented jungle camp in Khao Sok National Park. Here, Travel Counsellors were able to get up close with rehabilitated elephants before joining an emotional Gold Conference, where new-to-Gold Travel Counsellors received moving video messages from their proud friends and family. The group then moved on to Devasom Khao Lak Beach Resort & Villas for a sensational dinner and cocktail party on Khao Lak’s stunning sunset beach.
Sarah Freeman joined Travel Counsellors in 2018 and achieved Gold in October 2022. She said: “I must say a huge thank you to all of those involved in arranging such a wonderful trip for us in Thailand. Achieving Gold is clearly one of the highlights of my entire career and what better reward than being able to explore this beautiful country? It was fantastic to be able to spend time with my colleagues and to immerse myself in the experience and come away truly inspired by what a destination like Thailand can offer for my customers.”
