Mental health matters – wellbeing support for our business owners

We understand that running a travel business comes with peaks and troughs – not just in terms of booking volumes, but also in terms your wellbeing. As an entrepreneur, there’ll be days where you feel on top of the world, and times where things can seem like a struggle.

We’ve always seen the value in being caring and personal, and that’s why we’re so committed to giving our business owners the tools and support they need to stay happy, healthy, and performing at their best. To mark World Mental Health Day, we’re putting the spotlight on the many ways in which we empower our community to prioritise their mental wellbeing – so you know exactly what support you’ll benefit from when you join our friendly community.

Access to a personal counsellor

We provide all our franchisees with access to a personal counsellor. Whether you're struggling with stress, anxiety, or just need a listening ear, our qualified counsellor is here to support you. They can provide confidential advice and guidance to help you work through any challenges you may be facing, both personally and professionally.

The support of a dedicated Relationship Manager

All Travel Counsellors are given a dedicated Relationship Manager, who will be deeply invested in your wellbeing. They’ll be a sounding board to talk through any problems you’re experiencing, empowering you with everything you need to overcome any barriers that are affecting your business and your happiness. Your Relationship Manager will be in touch regularly to offer guidance and advice to help you achieve your goals. They’ll be there to celebrate your success and pick you up when things don’t quite go to plan.

The opportunity to get things off your chest over a cuppa

We host fortnightly virtual coffee mornings, where you can connect with fellow franchisees and Support Hub colleagues and talk through any problems – whether work-related or personal. It’s a safe space to share what’s on your mind, seek support, and make new friends within the community. Our business owners have previously described these sessions as a ‘lifeline’ when times get tough.

A chance to be part of our Affinity Groups

We’ve recently launched a series of ‘Affinity Groups’, with the aim of connecting our community, based on issues that matter to them. These include:

  • TC Pride – for all things LGBTQ+

  • TC Ability – addressing the challenges relating to illness, disability, and additional care needs

  • TC Origins – focusing on cultural diversity within our community

  • TC Balance – dedicated to promoting gender parity

  • TC Sustain – for those with a passion for the planet

Plenty of in-person events

Working from home can be isolating, so that’s why we offer lots of in-person events so you can catch up with other business owners and Support Hub colleagues face-to-face. From our flagship annual conference and mini roadshows throughout the year, to training sessions, FAM trips, family days, and bespoke supplier events, there’s always something going on for you to get involved with.

Stay motivated with our exciting incentives

A bit of healthy competition can help keep you focused on those days where you feel like you’re having a bit of a lull – that’s why we run monthly incentives with some once-in-lifetime trips and superb prizes up for grabs. Depending on the incentive, you’ll either be buddied up with other Travel Counsellors and work together to secure the prize, or be challenged to improve your business metrics for a chance to win entries into the draw.

This year, some of our incentive trips have taken our Travel Counsellors to the likes of India, Vietnam, Australia, and Greece. And before the year is out, we’ve also got a Virgin Voyages Mediterranean cruise, a tour of Morocco, and a European Christmas markets river cruise lined up!

Are you keen to see our caring community in action? There’s no better way to do that than at our Annual Conference. We’re throwing open our doors for a very special Discovery Day at our conference in Manchester on Saturday 23rd November. Not only will you learn more about our award-winning franchise model, you’ll also have the chance to hear from one of our incredible guest speakers and get a VIP glimpse into our 30th birthday celebrations. You won’t want to miss it! Spaces are limited, so secure your spot today.
