Record number of new Travel Counsellors launch their businesses

The Travel Counsellors community welcomed 25 new business owners on Friday 15th September, which is the most franchises that have ever launched on a single day. Our new Travel Counsellors bring hundreds of years’ experience across both leisure and corporate travel between them, demonstrating the experience and talent we attract.

Just some of the new business owners joining us included Maria Demosthenous, who was previously Sales and Marketing Manager at Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus, and Harry White, who has held high-profile corporate marketing manager positions within the industry – including nine years with Etihad.

We also had 11 Holidays Please franchisees move their businesses over to Travel Counsellors, further strengthening our tight-knit community of travel experts. The celebratory ‘business launch’ call brought together the new franchisees, Travel Counsellor mentors and head office colleagues, marking the end of the two-week, virtual induction which equips Travel Counsellors with the tools and knowledge they need to get their venture off the ground.

Sanjay Hirani brings a wealth of experience in corporate travel, and he had nothing but positive things to say about the induction process. “The Training Team were absolutely amazing from the get-go. The support and encouragement was invaluable, and the material that is produced is amazing.”

Meanwhile, Daniel Adams – who has created bespoke itineraries for over 20 years - praised the “chilled and relaxed ethos” demonstrated throughout the process. He said: “Over the last two weeks, whatever questions we’ve had or support we’ve needed, the trainers took this all in their stride. It’s great to have this level of care come from the top down.”

And Corporate Travel Counsellor, Scott Page, has been blown away by his recruiter and business coach, saying: “From the moment I first spoke to Ashley in the recruitment team, everything that she recommended has been delivered. She made the whole process really easy, and I haven’t once thought ‘what have I done?’. I’m loving it. I’ve also been looked after by Lisa Bradshaw in the Business Coaching Team – she’s really approachable and supportive.” Scott is an expert in providing travel management solutions to SMEs, national and multi-national organisations, having spent the last 17 years as a manager within the corporate travel world.
