The road to freedom: how Becky built a successful business

Last December, she ran her business while spending six weeks travelling through France, Spain, and Portugal in a campervan - an experience that shaped the way she does business, helping her deliver even more personalised recommendations (and even better service to her customers).

What motivated Becky to hit the road

For Becky, the decision to work on the road was easy. “We’ve always loved the idea of travelling and with my partner being able to take a seven-month career break, it felt like the perfect time to embrace a real adventure.” As her own boss, Becky could decide how her work fitted around that opportunity.

Becky saw the trip as a way to deepen her knowledge and refresh her expertise in the destinations she sells. “Seeing these places in person means I can tailor recommendations with even more confidence. It’s about gathering fresh, first-hand inspiration to share with my customers when planning their own memorable journeys,” she explains.

That mindset reflects a truth many travel professionals recognise: the best advice comes from lived experience. Prioritising your own wellbeing also strengthens you and can help deepen and renew your love of travel, so you can deliver truly excellent service for your customers. “It’s about living my best life and achieving a real work-life balance. Blending my passion for travel with the flexibility to work from anywhere means I can experience the world while ensuring my customers receive exceptional care.”

By any measure, Becky’s business is thriving, with her business achieving the top-performer ‘Gold’ status. “I run a Gold business, earn a great income, and get to live a life I truly enjoy,” she says.
