Travel Counsellors celebrate success on final two Gold Weekends of 2024
It’s been a double whammy of celebrations over the past couple of weeks as our final two Gold Weekends of 2024 took place in South Africa and Qatar. Over 100 of our hard-working business owners joined some of our Support Hub colleagues and valued supplier partners across both trips, taking some well-deserved time away from their businesses to celebrate success and enjoy some once-in-a-lifetime experiences!
South African Safari
Starting off in stunning South Africa, our business owners were treated to a one-night stay in vibrant Johannesburg (rounded off with a traditional ‘braai’ BBQ dinner), followed by three nights in the African bush – staying at the stunning Kapama River Lodge.
With multiple game drives led by expert guides, they were lucky enough to spot lions, giraffes, zebras, elephants, and rhinos to name but a few. Imagine sipping on a sundowner while feeling like you’re in a real life ‘Lion King’!
In addition to the thrill of seeing these beautiful species up close, our Travel Counsellors also indulged in afternoon tea, spa treatments, and a lavish celebratory dinner. A huge thank you to Sense of Africa for hosting such a wonderful weekend.
Taking in the delights of Doha
And just as our South Africa Gold trippers returned from an incredible weekend, our next group of high-achievers were touching down in Qatar for our biggest Gold Weekend to date at the luxurious Fairmont Doha.
The long weekend kicked off with an exclusive welcome cocktail party, hosted at the iconic Raffles. Our Travel Counsellors socialised to the sounds of live soul and jazz, followed by electrifying DJ sets that kept everyone on the dancefloor into the early hours.
The next day, we slowed down the pace with time to relax on the sandy beach, and a free evening for our business owners to explore the delights of Doha at their leisure
Saturday was a day for sightseeing, with our hosts, Visit Qatar and Discover Qatar, arranging a city tour (taking in The Pearl, Katara Cultural Village, and Souq Waqif), followed by an enriching visit to the National Museum of Qatar. In the evening, we had exclusive access to Vertigo – one of Doha’s highest clubs offering panoramic views of the skyline.
On the last day, our Travel Counsellors had a free day to spend as they pleased, with some taking the opportunity to soak up the sun or turn up the tempo with a high-octane dune buggy tour. To round off an incredible trip, and to toast success and new friendships, a farewell dinner was held on the Raffles Aqua Deck - a poolside haven overlooking the city.
