Travel Counsellors hosts biggest and best Family Day yet at Alton Towers Resort

On Sunday 4th August, we hosted our biggest Family Day to date at Alton Towers Resort, bringing together 414 Travel Counsellors, Support Hub colleagues, and their families.

Our Family Days are a long-standing, annual tradition to connect our community and give our franchisees the chance to mingle with Support Hub colleagues, fellow business owners, and our valued supplier partners. This year’s event was kindly sponsored by NCL Cruise Lines, Beds Online, and Do Something Different.

Attendees were welcomed into the hospitality suite for some light refreshments to get them fuelled up for the day. Alton Bear himself also stopped by to meet the little ones and take part in an obligatory group photo.

Before the rides opened, there was also time to congratulate 10-year-old Euan Hopper, who designed our winning T-shirt for this year. Inspired by Oblivion, his favourite ride at the park, Euan was thrilled to have won and loved seeing everyone wearing his masterpiece.

After a couple of hours to enjoy the rides, our attendees were treated to a delicious buffet lunch of jacket potatoes, nachos, burgers, and hot dogs. There were also face-painters, glitter artists, and balloon modellers on hand to keep the kids entertained while the parents tucked into their food and chatted with our suppliers.

In the afternoon, guests could enjoy the park at their leisure – whether that was keeping the adrenaline pumping, visiting the aquarium, strolling around the gardens, or taking in one of the shows.

Just getting to see all of the other Travel Counsellors and Support Hub colleagues is amazing, and being with our families makes it even more special. I absolutely love the Family Days and would never miss one.”

A bit of light drizzle couldn’t dampen our spirits, and a fantastic day was had by all. We’re already looking forward to getting our community and their loved ones together next year!
