Travel Counsellors reaches record 2000 business owners

We’re thrilled to announce that we now have over 2,000 franchisees in our global community, showcasing our continued growth. In 2023 to date, we’ve welcomed more than 300 new business owners, marking a 30% year-on-year increase. In November alone, we had 20 new recruits.

Although many of our new business owners have previously worked in the industry, our latest cohort includes business owners from across a wide variety of sectors. They include corporate account managers, entrepreneurs, ex-military, actors, photographers, and marketing professionals This reflects the diverse range of professional backgrounds that make up the Travel Counsellors community.

We’ve also strengthened our community of corporate travel professionals at Travel Counsellors for Business, with 25 new corporate franchisees onboarded.

All new starters receive a comprehensive training programme which is tailored based on their experience. For people who are completely new to the travel industry, our Travel Academy Programme is designed to bring them up to speed and give them the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to run a successful travel business.

Matt Carter, a leisure travel counsellor based in Cambridge who joined in October 2023, said: I’m proud to be part of the latest Travel Counsellor cohort - and its youngest member. I recently decided to swap a career in property for travel, and I was drawn to Travel Counsellors for its training and development programme. My experience on the Travel Academy Programme was excellent; I received quality support from the support team, the training team, my mentor and local Travel Counsellors. Since joining, I have felt a strong sense of community, and it’s a joy to be a part of.”

Here at Travel Counsellors, our business owners have the opportunity to work across both leisure and corporate travel if they wish – giving them the chance to boost their earnings and even collaborate with other business owners. One franchisee who is scaling her business by doing this is Leanne Rudd, who also joined us in October.

Leanne said: “I’ve worked in the travel industry my entire career and travel is a long-held passion of mine. I’m looking forward to bringing years of industry knowledge and experience to my role at Travel Counsellors. I’m also excited to get to know my clients and will be focused on providing them with quality personalised and tailor-made service. The support I have received from Travel Counsellors so far has been invaluable and played a big part in my recent sales achievements.”
