Travel Counsellors wave farewell to a record-breaking “Fab Feb" as cruise sales surge

We’re thrilled to announce that we had our best February on record, amassing £60m in UK leisure travel sales – an increase of 20% compared to last year.

We’ve also seen a surge in cruise bookings, which were up 40% year-on-year in February and now represent almost 15% of all our leisure sales. Luxury cruises in particular were among the top three trending holiday types booked by our franchisees during February.

Global Sales Director, Jim Eastwood, said, “Cruising has always been a much-loved way for Travel Counsellors’ customers to discover the world, one port at a time, but in recent weeks we’ve seen wave upon wave of cruise bookings, whether that’s travellers wishing to holiday at sea, or sightsee on river sailings.

“Success for our business owners, however, is when they can perfectly match their customer's personal preferences to the best cruising experience for them, and we’re so proud to work closely with our suppliers to create cruising customers for life. Over half our UK Travel Counsellors community made cruise bookings last year, and we’re delighted to see this momentum continue at full speed into 2024.”

The momentous month for sales was supported by a dedicated month-long incentive, dubbed “Fab Feb", that saw our travel entrepreneurs motivated to continue the January Peaks momentum by beating their previous February performance. The more bookings a business owner made, the more entries they gained to win a coveted spot on one of two luxury getaways to Antigua, and a Bali-Singapore twin-centre trip.

In fact, over 150 of our travel entrepreneurs celebrated their best-ever month in February, and the top five leisure bookings made by individual franchisees in February smashed six figures each.
