Why attend Conference Discovery Day?

Thinking of joining us for our Discovery Day at our Annual Global Conference? Sorrel Ashton joined us in 2020 through our Travel Academy, meaning she wasn’t from a travel background whilst Kelly Ryan joined us having been in the travel industry for over 17 years, with experience in both leisure and corporate travel.

Can you think of three reasons why a potential Travel Counsellor should attend Conference?

Sorrel said: "To experience the size and scale of Travel Counsellors, to be inspired by the amazing community and the way it supports each other, and to take a peek behind the scenes – especially if you have never worked in travel before."

Kelly said: "To get a real feel for the TC community. You have the opportunity to see first-hand, an organisation of like-minded individuals coming together as one team, to learn, enjoy and celebrate.

The conference is very informative and inspiring. There are many renowned guest speakers throughout the day, I guarantee you will come away from it having learnt something new or ignited that passion inside of you.

As we are all homeworkers, the conference is a great place to meet other Travel Counsellors and put a face to a name. The people I met at the conference I attended, I still speak to now."

What did you enjoy most about your time at Conference?

"One thing that stood out to me, was Jim Eastwood remembering extremely fine personal detail about each and every single TC. He had no script to follow, it was very impressive and proved that everything we do is personal." - Kelly

Did attending the Discovery Day influence your decision to join Travel Counsellors?

"Yes! I went from a maybe to a yes in three hours. But more than that, it made me think about the practicalities of this decision, what it was going to look like and how I could start planning straight away to make it a reality." - Sorrel
