"It could be the best thing I've ever done" - Emma Diamond

Emma Diamond joined us in September 2020, after being made redundant from her previous role in travel.

She got off to a flying start, and hit our ‘Gold’ sales status within her first year… an impressive achievement at the best of times! Now, we check in again with Emma as she looks forward to what the New Year has in store.

How have things been since we last chatted with you in June 2021?

Things have been amazing! June was pretty much the start of the busiest few months for me, and it’s just got better and better since then. I’ve since hit Gold, surrounded myself with an incredible bunch of like-minded TCs who I speak to all day every day, I’ve hired a TC assistant and expanded my business exponentially, including onboarding a few corporate accounts (which is brand new to me)!

You became ‘Gold’, how did that feel?

I’ve never worked harder than I have in this past 6 months, and I am so proud of myself for all that I have achieved. It feels surreal and most days I still can’t quite believe the success I’ve had in such a short space of time. I attribute my business growth primarily to the vast number of referrals I’ve received and am still getting daily.

You took part in our ‘TCs Like You’ campaign – what made you want to do that? What was it like?

I felt so proud to have been asked, and recognition is something that really motivates me. It was a great opportunity to get to see the Support Centre in Manchester for the first time since joining, as I joined during lockdown, and meet some TCs and colleagues in person. Plus, I felt like having my face and story out in the world could only be a good thing from a business perspective.

What are clients looking for or asking you now?

Clients are desperate to get away. A lot of people are very nervous to travel and I am certainly having to do more hand-holding than ever before. But this means they are extremely grateful and recommend me to all their friends once they get back. I think it’s important to be reliable; I mean it when I tell them I will look after them, and I do everything I told them I was going to when first they booked with me.

The New Year is here... What are you looking forward to?

Continuing this same trajectory! Last January was very tough, and so it can only be better than that, and I’m excited for that busy feeling. I am just so happy with the direction my career is heading in.
